Personal identity number and BankID
Personnummer
You will need the personal identity number, know as Personnummer, to do almost everything in Sweden. From paying taxes and renting an apartment, to opening an internet or cell-phone subscription, to getting a gym card at your local gym. You will also need your personal number to access the same healthcare benefits as Swedish citizens.

BankID
You can use BankID for identification or digital signatures with more than 5000 companies and authorities, such as postal services, online health services, for online payments and much more.
