On the Latest EU AI Act
The fears of unethical AI application can finally come to an end with the latest EU Act that regulates its usage by employers, particularly in the recruitment process. Having come into force in August 2024, the Act places Recruitment Systems in the high-risk group, identifying them as potentially harmful to the rights and freedoms of individuals.
The higher the risk lever is, the more rigorous compliance requirements are, creating a few important implications for employers. First, to guarantee human oversight of AI usage for the recruitment process. Second, to perform regular fundamental human rights impact assessments. And finally, to enhance specific compliance measures regarding transparency and data protection.
With more regulations about to be introduced (Feb 2025, Prohibited AI systems and AI literacy & Aug 2025, Requirements for provider of general-purpose AI), businesses can expect to receive more detailed guidance in the near future.
From our side, we ensure full compliance with the act and apply all necessary measures to maintain unbiased recruitment for our potential consultants, in alignment with regulations related to human rights, transparency, and data protection, among others.
